Galloway, N.J. – Two Stockton University student-athletes received NJAC weekly honors for the week of October 12-18. Freshman Stella Devlin (Millville/St. Joseph's Academy) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week in field hockey for the second straight week and third time this season.
Senior goalkeeper Tori Vliet (Marmora/Ocean City) was selected as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for her first-ever weekly award.
Devlin scored three goals in Stockton's 7-0 victory over Ramapo for her second consecutive hat trick. The freshman has tallied at least three points in six of her 10 games played, including four of her last five contests. Devlin ranks third in the NJAC in goals (11), tied for third in points (26) and tied for 10th in assists (4).
Vliet posted shutouts in both Stockton games last week, giving her a league-leading eight on the season. The keeper made four saves apiece in a 1-0 win over Kean and a 3-0 triumph over William Paterson to boost her latest shutout streak to 243 minutes. In addition to leading the NJAC in shutouts, Vliet sits second in goals against average (0.58) and save percentage (.860).
Stockton women's soccer will play a pair of NJAC games this week, at No. 4 Rowan University on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and home versus New Paltz on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Stockton field hockey also will play two NJAC contests this week, at Kean on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and home against William Paterson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
