Learn how the Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm, an iconic feature in Atlantic City’s skyline, contributes to clean waterways every Windsday at noon in July and August during free open house tours.
Guests will have the opportunity to stand beneath a wind turbine, observe wind power in action, and ask questions about renewable energy and wastewater treatment.
“Tours are an engaging and informative opportunity for the public to see the positive impact of renewable energy first-hand and learn about essential wastewater treatment services,” said ACUA President Matthew DeNafo. “ACUA is proud to offer this fun and valuable learning experience to local residents and visitors traveling to the shore.”
The Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm supplies power for the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) Wastewater Treatment Plant, which treats wastewater from thousands of residents and visitors before it is safely released into the ocean. This process ensures local waterways are open for recreational swimming, fishing and more.
