The Atlantic County Office of Highway Traffic Safety and the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) will offer the National Safety Council (NSC) six-hour defensive driving course aimed at providing participants with the practical knowledge and techniques necessary to avoid traffic violations and motor vehicle crashes.
The choices you make behind the wheel can change your life forever. This highly interactive course educates participants about making positive decisions to improve driving behaviors by practicing safe, responsible and lawful driving through a self-assessment risk survey, a series of learning activities and discussions, videos with real-life driver simulations and hazard recognition scenarios.
Participants who complete the course may be eligible to receive up to a 5% discount on their insurance and/or a two-point reduction, if needed, on their New Jersey driver license. To confirm discount information, participants should contact their insurance carrier.
There is a required course fee of $10 to be paid by cash or money order made payable to the National Safety Council to receive a certificate and insurance discount or point reduction.
The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the Anthony Canale Training Center located at 5033 English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township. Registration is required. To register or for more information, please contact the Atlantic County Office of Highway Traffic Safety at 609-407-6739.
