Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University finished third out of eight teams that scored in the NJAC Championships, which were hosted by The College of New Jersey. With a team score of 79, Stockton trailed only TCNJ and Rowan. Four Ospreys finished in the top 20.
Evelynn Austin (Sparta/Pope John XXIII) led Stockton by placing 11th out of 90 runners with a time of 23:20.0 for six kilometers. Sarah Rutledge (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) came in 14th at 23:37.9.
With those finishes, Austin and Rutledge qualified for NJAC Second Team honors, each earning all-conference accolades for the first time.
Madison Pratt (Galloway/Absegami) followed Rutledge two seconds later at 23:39.0 for 15th place. Paige McCabe (Moorestown/Moorestown) was the fourth Osprey in the top 20 as she finished 20th with a time of 23:48.4.
Sophia Cornell (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) crossed the line less than a second later at 23:49.2 for 21st place.
Rutledge, Pratt and McCabe all recorded personal bests, as did five of Stockton's non-scoring runners in a strong team effort by the Ospreys.
Stockton will compete at the NCAA Regionals in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on November 14.
