The City of Atlantic City officially celebrated the grand reopening of the newly renovated Dolphins Field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the $1.33 million transformation of the popular community sports facility.
Mayor Marty Small Sr. was joined by City officials, project contractors, Atlantic City Dolphins representatives, and Dolphins players, cheerleaders and coaches from the present and past for the celebration, bringing together the people who have helped make Dolphins Field an important part of Atlantic City’s youth sports community.
Funded through New Jersey’s Green Acres Program, the renovation project has delivered significant improvements to the facility, including a new gray artificial turf playing surface, new fencing, upgraded lighting, new goal posts, new storage sheds, landscaping enhancements and ADA accessibility improvements, including new sidewalks. A new clubhouse will be constructed next year.
The newly renovated field will host its first home game this Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m., giving the Atlantic City Dolphins an opportunity to officially take the new playing surface for a game.
