In recognition of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 15, the Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections Office is encouraging eligible residents to register to vote or make sure their existing voter registration information is up to date ahead of the November 3rd General Election.
“Every eligible voter should feel confident about their ability to participate in our elections,” said Maureen Bugdon, Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections. “Our office is here to make sure residents have access to clear, accurate and reliable information. There are no silly questions. If you're unsure about your registration or need help navigating the process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We want to be your official source for election information, and we're absolutely here to help.”
Voter registration eligibility in New Jersey
To register to vote in New Jersey, an applicant must:
Be at least 17 years old to register and 18 by Election Day;
Be a resident of Atlantic County.
Residents can register to vote online or check their voter registration status by visiting Vote.NJ.gov.
“National Voter Registration Day is a great reminder that registering to vote can be a simple and straightforward process,” said Audrey Miles, Deputy Superintendent of Elections. “Whether you're registering for the first time, recently moved, or simply want to make sure your information is correct, we encourage you to take a few minutes to check. Residents who have recently moved, changed their name, or need to update their voter registration information are encouraged to do so well in advance of the General Election.
