Atlantic City's rich Black history takes center stage on Thursday, June 25, 2026, during a pair of landmark events that honor the city's past while creating new ways for residents and visitors to experience its legacy.
The City of Atlantic City, the New Jersey Historical Commission, and the Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation will first unveil a New Jersey Black Heritage Trail marker commemorating the historic significance of Chicken Bone Beach at 11:00 a.m. at Missouri Avenue and the Boardwalk.
Immediately after the Chicken Bone Beach ceremony, inside the Tiberius room at Caesars, city officials will launch the Black Cultural Heritage Tour, an interactive experience that highlights the people, places, and stories that helped shape Atlantic City.
Both events are open to the public. Click the event title above for more information.
