As an upstanding citizen of Planet Fiero, you have important responsibilities. You have things to do and places to be. But as with much of the modern world, a mixture of urbanization, tourism, and poor city planning has made Planet Fiero difficult to get around. Even crossing the street is challenging.
Design and create a program in Code Blocks that allows you to navigate your character safely across the street. But watch out — obstacles like cars or robot creatures will be moving along the street, and if you get hit, it is game over.

Project guidelines
- Design a cool-looking main character.
- Design a cool scene with a street as the main focus.
- Design and program a few obstacles (cars or bad guys) that are traveling along the street. Make some obstacles go one direction and others go the other direction.
- Program a way to control your main character to navigate up and down, left and right.
- Program a way for the character to win the level by getting to the other side of the street or lose the level by getting hit by an obstacle.
- Program a way so players have a certain number of lives, and they lose a life when they get hit by an obstacle.
- Make the levels increasingly difficult (more obstacles, faster-moving obstacles).
- Add sound effects.
- Add a timer so players have to complete a level in a certain amount of time.
- Create a “You Win” screen and a “Game Over” screen and program the conditions of when those screens will appear.
- Optional: Make some levels where the rules are reversed and you die if you touch the road (maybe it looks like water), and instead you have to move onto moving transports to cross the road.

“My experience working on this project was challenging for me. It proved I needed
to think more outside the box and other things to truly succeed in my project. On
some subjects it took days, others within the class period, but overall I believe it
was a fun and challenging learning experience. I believe that because I won I am
very excited to see what happens next. I love coding so far and this was a
challenging experience [like I said earlier], so winning for me was a pretty great
moment.” – Past first place winner
