This COVID-19 shortened high school basketball season is unique with teams primarily playing only league games. The Press Elite 11 has changed its format as a result. Instead of South Jersey, The Elite 11 is ranking only teams in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and southern Ocean counties.
Ranking selected by The Press high school sports staff based on staff observation, research and interviews with players and coaches. Last week’s ranking in parentheses:

10. Barnegat
10. Barnegat (11) 6-2: Bengals have won two straight.
9. Vineland
9. Vineland (10) 5-3: Junior guard Yamere Diggs is averaging 16 points per game.
8. Wildwood
8. Wildwood (8) 8-1: Warriors have won eight straight.
7. Southern Regional
7. Southern Regional (7) 7-1: Rams have won seven straight.
6. Atlantic City

4. Egg Harbor Township
4. Egg Harbor Township (4) 6-1: Junior guard Carlos Lopez is averaging 20.7 points.
3. Holy Spirit
3. Holy Spirit (3) 7-2: Spartans have won six straight.
2. St. Joseph Academy
2. St. Joseph (1) 8-1: Important to remember that the Wildcats are playing every game on the road this season.
1. St. Augustine
1. St. Augustine (2) 8-1: Hermits take over the top spot with a 67-56 win over St. Joseph on Friday.
