So, they weren’t conspiracy theories after all.
It’s all three years too late, but I’ll take it.
And don’t let the fact that the Energy Department made its conclusion with “low confidence” fool you. This is a huge shift in how the virus and the pandemic will be talked about.
At least it should be. But maybe we’re so far down the road that nobody cares anymore.
Certainly not the experts (hello, Dr. Anthony Fauci) and the media members who for years have scoffed at any suggestion that Covid-19 leaked from a lab.
They’ve got a lot of explaining to do. But don’t hold your breath waiting for them to hold themselves accountable.
But I won’t forget how for years, even wondering if it was possible that the virus that changed our world forever leaked from a Wuhan lab was widely dismissed as a conspiracy theory.

You were a science-denying Luddite if you even brought up the topic. Or a racist who wanted to pin the whole pandemic on the Chinese people.
But in truth, those who actively suppressed a healthy debate on the origins of Covid, a look at the evidence on both sides, were the science deniers. Was it a lab leak or did Covid jump to humans from an animal? Discuss.
But no. That wasn’t allowed. Too many people had too many vested interests connected to China. Too much research money, including some from the United States, was flowing into gain-of-function research in Wuhan, the very research that breeds super viruses like Covid-19.
Some of these same people are still trying to tamp down the lab-leak theory today, despite what the Energy Department and the FBI have said. What are they afraid of?
Nobody wanted to give any air to former President Donald Trump when he talked about Chinese origins of Covid.
Trump was wrong about a lot of things when it came to Covid, but he was on the right track with that one.
And it never was about the Chinese people. It’s the ruling Chinese Communist Party that’s at fault here.
Chinese leaders did their best to hide the outbreak at the beginning and have refused to this day to cooperate with investigations into the origins of Covid. What do they continue to hide?
If you’ve suffered from Covid-19 or any of its variants over the last three years, or if you lost a loved one to the virus, you damn well want to know how it all started.
If your business failed or you had big financial losses because of the pandemic, when your livelihood was stolen from you by ridiculous lockdowns, you want to know how it all started.
And if you lost your job because of overbearing vaccine mandates that have since been lifted, you sure do want to know who’s to blame.
Here’s another “conspiracy theory” that’s recently fallen by the wayside: The fact that you acquired natural immunity if you suffered from Covid and recovered. The well-respected Lancet medical publication put us right on that one recently.
But remember those years when we weren’t allowed to talk about natural immunity? Because that supposedly made you a Covid-19 vaccine denier.
To some people, even bringing it up as I’m doing right now, made you a potential mass murderer because you gave people a reason to refuse the vaccine and thus get other people sick.
So Covid probably did leak from a lab. And those with natural immunity were actually far less of a threat to the population than we were led to believe.
What else did the experts get wrong about the pandemic?
