Goodman, Anne, - of Ocean city, and formerly of Margate, died peacefully on August 29th at 96 years of age. She was born in 1923 in Philadelphia to the late Morris and Molly Greenberg and was predeceased by husband Sol and sisters Sylvia, Helen, Dorothy and Edith. Anne is survived by daughters Michele and Sallie (Jack); son Jerry (Kathy); grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Anne lived in Atlantic City with her family and worked at the Club Harlem for many years. The family moved to Margate in 1953 and Anne resided there for more than 50 years. Anne was a nursery school teacher at Beth Israel for 30 years and had fond memories of her time there. Later in her life she moved to Ocean City to be with her daughter Sallie and son-in-law Jack. Fahey, John J. Jr, - 89, of Mays Landing, NJ formerly of Northfield, NJ. Passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020, at home surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. John was predeceased by, his parents, John J. Fahey Sr. (Theresa Marchese), Burlington, NJ., brother Joseph J. Fahey Sr. (Mildred), Burlington, NJ., and sister Mary T. Fahey-Bogda (George), Burlington, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Stella J. Fahey, son Stephen J. Fahey, his daughter Elena T. Fahey-Arthur (John), grandson John Paul Arthur III (Khushbu), his granddaughter Stella T. Arthur-Rassmann (James), his great- granddaughter Harmony Q. Rassmann, his great-grandson Josiah J. Rassmann, his brother Patrick J. Fahey (Josephine), and many nephews, nieces and cousins. John was born in 1930 with flaming red hair, and raised in Burlington, NJ, during the height of the depression. He was called Junior by family members and relatives, but called Reds by all his childhood friends. His hobbies were, collecting baseball cards, marbles, stamps. He was raised Catholic with an Irish father and Italian mother. He began working on the farms with his mother and other family members at 10 years old. An alter boy at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, from 10 to 15 years old. While a child he loved to play all sports, especially baseball and basketball, where he was a member of the 1984 Burlington, High School Group 2 South Jersey Basketball Champions. After his 1948 high school graduation, he studied Toy and Die Making at the J. Chein oy Factory until 1951, at which time he joined the United States Air Force and Served from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. While he was in the Air Force he was trained in and studied Electronics and Radar, and afterwards taught electronics, aerodynamics and principles of flights on the C-11 Link Trainer until his discharge in 1955. With this knowledge, of electronics and aviation, he was hired by Link Aviation and assigned to the Field Engineering Service Department. After 9 months of assignments in the US he was assigned for 2.5 years to the Joint USAF Military Aid Group to Greece (JUSMAGG) in Athens, Greece. John worked at the Greek Air Force bases throughout Greece and taught Greek Air Force Pilots how to fly and operate the C-11 Link Trainer. In order to help him with this assignment he taught himself Greek, even though all Greek Military personnel were knowledgeable in the English Language. While in Greece John met the love of his life, Stella Zambetoglou, and in 1957 they married in Athens, Greece. In 1958 his son Stephen was born in Athens, they lived on the outskirts of Athens until November of 1958. He was reassigned to France and Germany for 3 months each before returning to the United States. Upon returning to the USA, in June of 1959, Link Aviation assigned him to work at NAFEC, Atlantic City, NK in the Electronic Lab. He liked this assignment and was accepted as a Government Employee. He then progressed to work in the field Engineering Group for the development and maintenance of the software used in the Air Traffic Control System. As a specialist, he would travel to help solve software problems at many of the Airports within the US, including Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. He was a member of the Knights of the Columbus, All Saints Council #6277, and American Legion Madeira Beach Florida Post #273. He loved all Sports especially Bowling and Golf and loved taking pictures. He Jogged from 1970 to 1955 for 5 miles a day for 6 days a week, then began walking 3 miles for 3/4 days a week until his death. He also began doing Genealogy in 1983 and managed to locate about 1,300 relatives, living and deceased, in the US, Ireland and Italy. He also researched many of his wife's Greek ancestry. He accumulated many stories of his ancestors and has kept then mostly private. John, enjoyed his many years as a volunteer at the entrance to the annual Holy Trinity Greek Festival, in Egg Harbor Township. Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, 1650 New Road, Northfield, N.J. 08225. Woodard, Jessie Bell, - 82, of Egg Harbor Township, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020. Jessie was born in Greene County, N.C. to Rev. Providence Blount and Bettie Adams Blount. She was the fourth of nine children, and attended school in Ayden, N.C. Jessie worked for Cornet Cleaners in Margate for 15 years, later working for various retail clothing shops. She lastly worked for Bendix Cleaners in Atlantic City and Childcare Network of Linwood, both for many years until retirement. Jessie was a member of Second Baptist Church in Atlantic City, where she served faithfully in several ministries for over 63 years. She loved the Lord and her church family. Jessie is predeceased by her husband, James Arthur Woodard; her parents, Providence and Bettie Blount; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Carrie Woodard; sister and brother-in-law, Lillie Mae and Leslie Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Bishop Robert L. and Rosa Mae Blount; brother-in-law, Mike Thompson; sister, Silva Jane Blount; sister and brother-in-law, Bettie and Ralph Loftin; brother, Providence Blount, Jr.; niece, Annette Blount; nephews, Ronald, Craig and Rodney Blount; brothers-in-law, John Earl Woodard, Willie Clay Woodard, Jimmy Eugene Miller and Isaiah Mack; and sister-in-law, Carrie Mack. Smith, John Henry, - 90, of Collegeville, PA, and formerly of Egg Harbor Township, affectionately called "Smitty", went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on October 24, 1929 in Dillion, S.C. to the late John Smith and Queen Ella Crawford. John attended Dillion public schools. He was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Clio, S.C at the age of 14. John moved to Atlantic City in 1947. He served in the army and the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. John married Helen Thomas in 1956 and to this union five children were born. In 1958, John joined the Second Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon and Usher Boards for over 40 years. John was an entrepreneur. He owned and operated Smitty's Barber Shop & Laundromat, rental properties and was a Jitney Driver. After retirement, John relocated to Collegeville, PA. John was preceded in death by both parents, his son, Darnelle L. Smith; two brothers, Leroy and Robert Crawford; and two sisters, Eva Bethea and Frances Thompson. John leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Helen Smith; five daughters, Charlene Reid, Damair (Kevin) Davies, Adrienne Bailey, Lisa (Curtis) Sanders and Helen (Terry) Freeman; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Armbruster, Mr. Edward James, - of Linwood, the Linwood Councilman, IBEW member, Father, Grandfather and friend died on Friday morning at his home in Linwood, following a year-long battle with cancer. He was 75 at the time of his death, being born in Ventnor and raised in Margate, New Jersey. He was united in marriage to Joanne Saviano and together had five children. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, daughters Giannine DiSciascio, Danielle Rodio, Rachelle Armbruster, Michelle Bottomley, and son, Edward John Armbruster. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jake, Angelina, Mia, Olivia, Emilia and Gabrielle Grace. Mr. Armbruster's legacy of caring, integrity, hard work, patience and persistence made him a greatly respected member of the community. He was an IBEW electrician in Local 359, formerly Local 211, serving as an assistant business agent and then an electrical foreman. He successfully led construction for many of the casinos, mentored younger electricians and performed high voltage cable splicing. He was a third-generation electrician and the youngest assistant business agent of Local 211. Mr. Armbruster served as a City of Linwood Councilman who was inducted into the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Elected Officials' Hall of Fame for his nearly three decades of civil service. As a Linwood Councilman, he stewarded law enforcement modernization, educational excellence for Linwood city schools, the Linwood Library relocation and significant improvements to the All Wars Memorial Park. Mr. Armbruster was a devoted problem-solver whose generosity of spirit and ability to bring the seemingly impossible into existence encouraged others to be a force for good. Mass will take place on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Linwood, New Jersey. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. He is greatly missed. Kopervos, Lorretta Anne, - of Egg Harbor Township, formerly Phialdelphia, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She was born on December 17, 1942 in Pottsville, PA, and attended John W. Hallahan High School, class of 1960. Loretta was a secretary at St. Bridget Parish in Philadelphia, and a member of the Fraternal Third Order of the Secular Franciscans. She is survived by six children Loretta Kopervos, Christopher Kopervos, Sandra Battista (Mario), Lynda DiMarco (Frank), John Kopervos, Thomas Kopervos (Kerri); siblings Walter Williams, Catherine Kunf, Donna Ruczynski, George Williams, Joseph Williams, Patricia Williams, Geraldine Kunf; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Loretta was predeceased by husband Joseph Kopervos, Sr.; son Joseph Kopervos, Jr.; parents Walter and Catherine Williams.
