New Jersey reports nearly 2,300 new COVID-19 cases, 8 new deaths

When COVID shots first came out, the CDC recommended waiting two weeks before or after getting another vaccine. Now, however, that guidance has changed.

Here’s an update of the COVID-19 numbers in the state.

New positive cases: 2,290

New deaths: 8

Total positive cases: 2,310,693

Total number of deaths: 31,588

Total vaccine doses administered: 14,252,772

Rate of transmission: 1.05


Atlantic: 65,027 cases, 984 deaths, 382,737 doses administered

Cape May: 12,965 cases, 273 deaths, 135,046 doses administered

Cumberland: 39,013 cases, 595 deaths, 188,384 doses administered

Ocean: 156,395 cases, 2,933 deaths, 706,263 doses administered
