Billboards across the region are displaying the aged-progressed photo of a boy who went missing 26 years ago in Cape May County.
Mark Himebaugh was last seen in his Del Haven neighborhood of Middle Township in 1991. He would be 37 this year.
In commemoration of National Missing Children’s Day last Thursday, the Newark Field Office of the FBI with Clear Channel Outdoor will display the photo of what Himebaugh might look like as a man on Clear Channel digital billboards in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until the end of June.
Himebaugh left his house Nov. 25, 1991, and was last observed at a park in his beachside community with an unidentified girl. The only evidence found was one of the boy’s sneakers on the beach near his home.
Eerlier in May, Himebaugh’s mother, Maureen, spoke at a Missing in New Jersey event in New Brunswick. She continues to search for her son.
National Missing Children’s Day was started by President Ronald Reagan in 1983 by proclamation, and each year, the Department of Justice commemorates the event with a ceremony.
Anyone with information on Himebaugh or any missing child may call the FBI in Newark at 973-792-3000, local police or 911. Tips also may be submitted at tips.fbi.gov.
