BRIGANTINE — Police arrested an 82-year-old city man after they said he shot off rounds from a gun Saturday.
At 5:54 p.m., officers were called to 19th Street and West Brigantine Boulevard after police received a report of shots fired. They found evidence of gunfire and determined the residence from which the shots came, police said Wednesday in a news release.
As a result, Vito Pizzo, of Brigantine, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. He also was cited for discharging a firearm within city limits.
Pizzo will remain in custody pending court, police said.
