A project led by a local minister and driven by 100 volunteers has resulted in a day center for Atlantic City’s homeless.
The Rev. Collins A. Days Sr. says it’s a true community project, and he’s right.
In addition to donating countless hours, businesses and community leaders lent financial support to what would become the Turning Point Day Center at the Allen AME Church.
But it was Days who spent three years working on his dream project, which provides the homeless a daytime shelter as well as medical care, veteran and psychiatric services and substance abuse help.
