ATLANTIC CITY — A city man has been charged with attempted murder and weapons possession following a shooting Tuesday evening.
At 5:14 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Missouri Avenue after receiving a gunshot alert. Witnesses told officers they saw a car speed away after the shots were fired.
Police said minutes later, a 51-year-old man from Sicklerville, Camden County, walked into the Public Safety Building with a gunshot wound. The man told police he was shot on Missouri Avenue. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as Robert Timmons, 23. He was located and arrested Wednesday evening, police said.
Timmons was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and is being held at the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing.
