Linwood-based NBC 40 WMGM to be sold

Local NBC affiliate NBC 40 WMGM is being sold, the station announced on its website.

WMGM stated that its owner, Access. 1 Communications, has agreed to sell the station to LocusPoint Networks, whose own website describes itself as "an early stage company formed by Telecom Professionals."

LocusPoint has been described in media reports as looking to buy up stations in advance of the Federal Communications Commission's auctioning of the broadcast spectrum.

NBC 40 was Access. 1's only TV station in addition to its 13 radio stations in New Jersey, New York, Texas and Louisiana, WMGM stated.

The statement also said Access. 1 will continue to manage NBC 40 under the new contract.
