MIDDLE TOWNSHIP — An Atlantic City man was stabbed Friday night in the Rio Grande section, police said.
William Crawford, 54, was found wounded in his abdomen and right arm at an address in the 200 block of Linden Lane, police announced Monday. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City, and was in stable condition, police said.
There were no suspects and the investigation continued, police said.
Officers arrived at the scene about 9:15 p.m. Friday and found Crawford’s girlfriend holding a towel on his wounds and screaming to get him help, police said.
Crawford was incoherent and immediately taken by the Rio Grande Rescue to a landing zone, where he was flown to the hospital in a helicopter, police said.
The police Patrol Division and Major Crimes Unit investigated with the assistance of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
