  • 0

Middle Township Middle School announced its Athletes of the Week for Sept. 28.

Girls soccer player McKenna Gregory, boys soccer player Jimmy Kane and field hockey player Maddie Scarpa were honored.

McKenna anchors the defense as the center fullback and does a great job with keeping the defense organized and strong. She is also a wonderful team leader who always leads by example. Likewise, McKenna is a very talented student who has a very bright future in store for her.

Despite losing 2-0, Jimmy played a very strong game versus Teitleman and created many scoring chances for the team. He led the Panther attack in a 5-4 win against Pleasantville by scoring two goals and assisting on three. Jimmy has started the season very strong and is very deserving of this award.

Maddie scored a goal in the season opener to help Middle secure the win. Maddie is in eighth grade and the National Honor Society. She is a great example of what student-athletes should be. She is a leader on the field and in the classroom. She has a great work ethic and a positive attitude.
