Gary Giberson swan 001.jpg

Gary Giberson

Gary Giberson, until recently the mayor of Port Republic, is an accomplished decoy carver. In this photo, Giberson is putting finishing touches on a beautifully detailed swan, which includes a chick on her back. His was one of many demonstrations given at the Smithville Village Bicentennial celebration in 1976.

We have a decoy collection on display in the Baymen’s Room of the Galloway Township Historical Society. We are open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
