In accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
regulations for “Notification and Public Outreach”, Pomona Towne Center, LLC is
required to provide information relating to environmental conditions and remedial
activities being conducted at the above referenced site.
The Site is currently developed with a one-story commercial building.
The on-Site building was constructed as a multi-unit strip mall (Pomona Shopping
Center). A dry-cleaning operation (Pomona Dry Cleaners) formerly operated out of
one of the commercial units. Investigations to date have identified concentrations
of the volatile organic compound tetrachloroethene (PCE) in excess of NJDEP
Regulatory Standards in soil beneath the former dry cleaning commercial unit.
Additionally, concentrations of PCE have been identified in Site groundwater in
excess of NJDEP Practical Quantitation Level’s. Based on work completed to
date, it has been determined that the identified soil impacts remain onsite and
that the extent of groundwater impacts have been delineated.
The person conducting the remediation will continue addressing the remaining
obligations associated with the identified contaminant of concern and ensure
that any impacts from the contamination is promptly mitigated.
