Activist groups in South Jersey growing

After a larger than expected turn out at a Tuesday protest in May’s Landing, people are taking notice of activist groups in South Jersey.

Weekly protest are taking place across South Jersey and are being coordinated through social media and online directories like IndivisibleGuide.com.

A group of former congressional staffers began compiling a list of groups that were against the current political climate in December. The guide first started as a GoogleDoc, and now  has a data map of more than 4,500 groups national wide.

According to their website, groups listed on IndivisibleGuide.com, “agree to resist Trump's agenda, focus on local, defensive congressional advocacy, and embrace progressive values”.

Four groups are listed in Atlantic County, including the Egg Harbor Township Democratic Club, South Jersey Indivisible, from Margate City, Indivisible Post Election 2016: Now What?, from Atlantic City, and South Jersey Humanists, from Absecon.

The organizations can be reached on social media including Facebook and Twitter.
