It's a long drive for Somers Point man, son

SOMERS POINT - It is hard to believe one golf ball can carry so far, especially when a 9-year-old is hitting it.

Somers Point resident Jeff Dahl will send a Nike flying down the first fairway at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. - possibly in front of Tiger Woods - on Wednesday as part of a ceremony prior to the AT&T National tournament.

The shot will be the final leg of an incredible journey that encompasses thousands of miles and serves as a bond for a father and son.

"We don't know if Tiger will be there or not because of his knee surgery," said Jen Dahl, Jeff's mother. "But it will still be an awesome experience for us. I never thought when I signed Jeff up for golf lessons a few weeks ago that it would lead to something like this." More
