From Press staff reportsNASHUA, N.H. - Atlantic City left-handed pitcher Adam Cox struck out 12 Wednesday and the Surf held on to beat the Nashua Pride 3-2 in a Can-Am Baseball League game before an announced crowd of 907 at Holman Stadium.Cox went seven scoreless innings and walked three. He was lifted after Jack Joffrion got Nashua's first hit leading off the eighth. Reliever Kyle George got only one out as the Pride scored two runs in the eighth. A.C.'s Walker Whitley came on in the eighth and went 1 innings to get the save. Nashua had only three hits in the game, and the Surf had five.

Meet Joe Burke
Joe Burke joined the Surf last year and had a great first season, finishing second in the Can-Am League with six triples and third with a .333 average. Before coming to the Surf, the Brooklyn, N.Y., native spent a year in the Toronto Blue Jays' system after being drafted by his hometown New York Yankees and playing in their system. More
