ATLANTIC CITY- Police have identified the young man whose body was found riddled with bullets early this morning.
Kevin Ross, 23, was pronounced dead about 1:46 this morning, 22 minutes after police responded to the 800 block of N. Maryland Ave. to investigate the reported shooting, according to a statement from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's office.
They found Ross with six bullets lodged in his head, left shoulder and left buttocks.
Atlantic County Medical Examiner Dr. Hydow Park performed an autopsy,which indicated Ross died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the statement.
Ross had moved to Atlantic City a few months ago from Philadelphia.
Investigators continued to search this afternoon for the person who killed Ross.
Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit members are investigating the slaying, along with members of the Atlantic City Police Department, according to the statement.
They have asked that anyone with information call the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office at 609-909-7800 or go to the Prosecutor's Office Web site at http://www.acpo.org/tips.html and fill out the form anonymously on the Submit a Tip page.
People can also call Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234 or 1-800-658-8477 (TIPS). The agency gives cash rewards to those who provide information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
