Pinktoberfest Continues: Beer + benefit bashes = fun weekend for all

October is coming to a close, so get in all the Oktoberfestivities you can this weekend, beginning at The Pier Shops at Caesars in Atlantic City.

Friday, Oct. 23, features the Oktoberfest Beer Tasting event at The Pier, with Buddakan, Phillip's Seafood, Sonsie, The Continental, Souzai, Game On! and The Trinity Irish Pub all participating. For an entrance fee of $25, you can sample a selection of more than 30 beers. You'll also be able to choose a complimentary pint at any of the restaurants listed above, all in the spirit of the German, beer-swilling celebration.

Tasting options run the gamut from German, imported beers to specialty, micro-brewed lagers. The unique craft that goes into each can be savored in every drop. You can purchase advance tickets through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-736-1420 or at The Pier Shops' Customer Service Center.

Besides it's association with beer, October has made quite a name for itself in terms of Breast Cancer Awareness and Research, with hundreds of organizations and restaurants turning up the dial on producing charitable events that really help the cause. On Friday at the Ego Lounge, you can be a part of it.

Enjoy live music and hot dance routines by the Pink Angels in honor of breast cancer awareness and fundraising for the Shirley Mae Breast Cancer Fund. The Ego Lounge, located in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, kicks things off at 6 p.m., when doors open for hors d'oeuvres, specialty pink cocktails and a silent auction. The Angels perform at 7:30 p.m., with the fun and fundraising continuing until 10 p.m.

Why not play some "Pink Jack," which begins at

8 p.m.? The top three winners of the blackjack tournament will walk out of Ego with some incredible prizes. And to keep you constantly entertained, WAYV-FM 95.1's Diane Mitchell and WZXL-FM 100.7's Michael James will serve as hosts and encourage partygoers to donate to the cause. Call 609-449-5138.

This weekend is certainly all about the ladies. Visit mur.mur inside the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City and you'll find proof of this.

Friday's party will be hosted by R&B star Keri Hilson. She'll be the center of attention while DJ's Castro and Eli Escobar mix it up on the turntables beginning at 10 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 24, DJ Sky Nellor lights up mur.mur with a little help from Chachi. Dress to impress on mur.mur Monday, as you dance it up to the DJ stylings of DJ Fashen.

Monday night's party kicks off at 10 p.m, as well. Call 609-317-1000.
