Nothing evokes the real feeling of summer down at the southern New Jersey shore like spending it with the ones you love - your family, of course!

Tonight, set your sights on the Atlantic City Country Club for its weekly, Thursday night event which includes great eats, treats and live music by the one and only Bubba Mac Blues Band.

"The Bubba Mac party has a really nice atmosphere with fun and games, and even raffle prizes," says Charles Fahy of the Atlantic City Country Club. "We have a patio menu inspired by the Bubba Mac Band that includes pulled-pork sandwiches, baby back ribs, beans and all the fixins. We have a kids' menu, too."

Speaking of stellar music, this Saturday brings out two very special tributes to two legendary bands: The Beatles and The Grateful Dead. Oh, and there's an event paying tribute to Bob Dylan, as well.

The Beatles Tribute Day Fundraiser taking place at S.R. Riley's Musical Cafe in Bridgeton is not only in honor of the Fab Four, it also benefits a 19-year-old girl, Dana Roberts, who suffers from cerebral palsy, and could really use a pick-me-up - Beatles style. Be a a part of all the fun, which includes a special appearance by May Pang, a personal friend of John Lennon, who will be showcasing her jewelry line, "Instant Karma." Also on board for the event is Hal Pollock, author of "Meet The Beatles," Anthony Parisi, a Beatles illustrator and Susan Ryan, owner of New York City's Fab Four Walking Tour.

In Grateful Dead news, it's time for Tony Mart's Rock'n'Roots Festival, which celebrates Jerry Garcia's birthday with a performance by former Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux. Godchaux is referred to as "the female voice of the Grateful Dead legacy" and performs the Grateful Dead's works ranging from 1972 to 1979. Other bands slated to perform are Cerebus as well as Jeff Schwatcher and The Ryders, a tribute act to Bob Dylan and The Band.

Also in attendance will be chef Richard Spurlock, who specializes in southern dishes like Lousianna gumbo. You can enjoy tequila drink specials, and all are welcome to dig in to Garcia's birthday cake. Jim Florentine, known for his stand-up hilarity as well as his work on Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers," performs live for three nights at the Casba Comedy Club in Wildwood.

"I always draw from personal experience," Florentine says of his standup act. "It's pretty much my personal life, and what goes on in my life and my views - not so much jokey jokes. I talk about something that irritates me during the day, try it out at night, and see how the crowd reacts."
