The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Tropicana Casino and Resort offer two poker tournaments this week that are certainly different, but both very enticing for gamblers.
The 2009 Borgata Poker Open, featuring a $2 million guaranteed championship, is already underway.
The 50-event tournament has already drawn thousands of poker players for Hold 'Em events that have generated millions of dollars in prize pools. For example, the kickoff event generated a price pool of $297,500 and a first-place take of $72,143.
The tournament will culminate with the televised World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open Championship Event from Saturday, Sept. 19, to Thursday, Sept. 24, boasting the huge prize pool.
Some of the better-known players who have already participated in the Open include Mike Sica, Al Krux, Tom Coan, Tony Salerno, Davidson Mathew, Eugene Todd, Dale Pinchot, Lacey Jones, Jason Young, Mike Leah, "Will the Thrill" Failla and Gordon Eng.
The tournament also offers Seven Card Stud, Omaha, ladies and seniors events in addition to No Limit Hold 'Em.

'Hook'em & Hold'em' tourney at Trop
Over at the Tropicana, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation will host the inaugural "Hooke'em & Hold'em" Foundation Poker Tournament on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The Texas Hold 'Em tourney will be held the day after the second annual Truex Foundation Golf Tournament and Dinner.
NASCAR star Martin Truex Jr. will take a brief break from the track to participate in the charity events before running in the Dover 400.
Fellow NASCAR drivers Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch will join the Ocean County native along with 250 poker players to benefit children in need in the New Jersey and North Carolina areas.
The first-place winner will walk away with $5,000, followed by $2,500 for second, and $1,000 for third.
The grand prize is the "Ultimate Dover Fan Experience Package" for the Sept. 27 race, which includes a 15-minute meet-and-greet with Truex Jr., two suite tickets for the NASCAR Spring Cup Series Dover 400, two NASCAR Sprint Cup Garage Passes, personal behind-the-scenes pit tour, a ride around Dover Speedway and access to pre-race driver's meetings and introductions.
Tickets are $200, which includes the buy-in and is limited to 250 participants.

Philadelphia Phillies All-Star Raul Ibanez recently stopped in at Resorts Atlantic City, where he took a break to take a picture in front of Boogie Nights.
Over at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Philadelphia Eagles tight ends Alex Smith and Brent Celek, as well as defensive end Victor Abiamiri, hosted a Monday Night Football party with Mike Gill and Pete Thompson of ESPN 92.7-FM at Ego Bar & Lounge.
Ryan Kwanten, one of the lead actors on HBO's smash series "True Blood" appeared at The Pool at Harrah's.
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" Dina Manzo, Caroline Manzo, Jacqueline Laurita and Teresa Giuduce made an appearance at the Atlantic City Hilton.
The reality stars of the Bravo series offered a Q&A for a paid audience and also played some roulette at the casino.
